Prof. Ursula Kilkelly (Vice President Global Engagement at University CollegeCork)
Ursula Kilkelly is a professor of law at the School of Law and Vice President Global Engagement atUniversity College Cork. She is an international children's rights scholar with 25 years experience ofresearch and international engagement. A prolific author of books, edited collections, articles andresearch reports she has lectured at LLM level for 20 years. She is a Chartered Director with theInstitute of Directors for which she is also an assessor. She is a member of the Board of the IrishManagement Institute (2016-), Hockey Ireland (2022-) and Midleton College (2018-). She has giveninvited keynotes on children's rights and youth justice all over the world lecturing at UCC and atuniversities in dozens of countries. She is Co-Editor in Chief of Youth Justice - an InternationalJournal - published by Sage, with Prof Stefaan Pleysier of KU Leuven in Belgium. Her researchfocuses on children's rights in youth justice and detention, access to justice, independent children'srights institutions and the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
